PURPOSE OF THE UNIT STANDARD 
The learner must be able to develop and consistently maintain an effective cleaning programme for his/ her area to ensure the safety of staff and customers. This includes identifying potential chemical hazards, frequent safety checks and on job training which is recorded and filed as well as adherence to legislative requirements.

    1. Anyone assessing a learner against this unit standard must be registered as an assessor with the relevant ETQA.

    3. Any institution wishing to receive skill development grants must be accredited with the relevant ETQA. Such an institution will also be registered with the relevant SETA.
