PURPOSE OF THE UNIT STANDARD |
This unit standard is intended for learners who are required to collect venous and/or capillary blood samples from adults and children for medical pathology and blood transfusion.
The unit standard excludes the collection of blood from arteries and the collection of blood involving more complex techniques which require special skills.
