The person credited with this Unit Standard will understand the fundamentals of ERP configuration and be able to assist in the configuration of an ERP module.

The qualifying learner is capable of:
  • Demonstrating an understanding of the fundamental techniques of configuring an ERP module
  • Assisting in configuring an ERP module according to the identified business requirements.
  • Demonstrating an awareness of the integration points between the relevant ERP modules
  • Carrying out procedures to test and verify the accuracy of the module configuration

    SPECIFIC OUTCOME 1 
    Demonstrate an understanding of the fundamental techniques of configuring an ERP module. 

    ASSESSMENT CRITERIA
     

    ASSESSMENT CRITERION 1 
    The basic principles of ERP configuration are explained in writing. 

    ASSESSMENT CRITERION 2 
    The fundamental techniques of ERP configuration are applied to a simple test implementation example. 

    ASSESSMENT CRITERION 3 
    An analysis of how configuration techniques are practically applied is given, based on an actual client implementation performed by a senior consultant. 

    SPECIFIC OUTCOME 2 
    Assist in configuring an ERP module according to the identified business requirements. 

    ASSESSMENT CRITERIA
     

    ASSESSMENT CRITERION 1 
    A client's business requirements are documented based on interviews or workshops undertaken in the client's business environment. 

    ASSESSMENT CRITERION 2 
    A meaningful section of an ERP implementation is configured under the direction and guidance of a senior consultant. 

    ASSESSMENT CRITERION 3 
    An analysis of the configuration against the documented business requirements is given in writing. 

    SPECIFIC OUTCOME 3 
    Demonstrate an awareness of the integration points between the relevant ERP modules.

    The importance of integration of ERP modules is explained in writing. 

    ASSESSMENT CRITERION 2 
    A general understanding of the functionality of different ERP modules are explained in terms of integration points. 

    ASSESSMENT CRITERION 3 
    Integration points between ERP modules are identified and documented based on an existing ERP implementation. 

    ASSESSMENT CRITERION 4 
    A description of the negative impact of poor integration is explained by means of a case study. 

    SPECIFIC OUTCOME 4 
    Carry out procedures to test and verify the accuracy of the module configuration.

    Test cases are created based on the functionality required by the ERP configuration.

    The configuration is tested extensively against defined test plans.

    The accuracy of the configuration is demonstrated through documentation gathered during the testing.

  • An individual wishing to be assessed (including through RPL) against this Unit Standard may apply to an assessment agency, assessor or provider institution accredited by the relevant ETQA, or by an ETQA that has a Memorandum of Understanding with the relevant ETQA.
  • Anyone assessing a learner against this Unit Standard must be registered as an assessor with the relevant ETQA, or with an ETQA that has a Memorandum of Understanding with the relevant ETQA .
