PURPOSE OF THE UNIT STANDARD 
This unit standard is intended for people who are responsible to ensure that security procedures are adhered to when handling cash, and security documentation.

Persons credited with this unit standard will be able to monitor the collection and delivery of cash by SBV, monitor cash holdings and control security documents. 

LEARNING ASSUMED TO BE IN PLACE AND RECOGNITION OF PRIOR LEARNING 
Persons attempting this unit standard should have knowledge of security risk aspects and an in-depth understanding of Banking Operations. 

UNIT STANDARD OUTCOME HEADER

SPECIFIC OUTCOME 1 
Monitor the collection and delivery of cash by SBV. 

ASSESSMENT CRITERIA
 

ASSESSMENT CRITERION 1 
1. Cash bins are handed to SBV guards in an area out of public view as per company specific requirements. 

ASSESSMENT CRITERION 2 
2. Cash bins are loaded and sealed under dual control as per company specific requirements. 

ASSESSMENT CRITERION 3 
3. Security guards are identified as per SBV agreement and company specific requirements. 
ASSESSMENT CRITERION RANGE 
Identified includes but is not limited to names, registration number of vehicle in use, time of arrival given .
 

ASSESSMENT CRITERION 4 
4. A pre-delivery advice is received from SBV as per company specific requirements. 
ASSESSMENT CRITERION RANGE 
Pre-delivery advise includes but is not limited to names, ID's of guards, registration of delivery vehicle.
 

ASSESSMENT CRITERION 5 
5. Security guards identification are verified as true and valid in relation to pre-delivery advise received as per company specific requirements.

ASSESSMENT CRITERION 1 
1. Branch cash holdings are within approved limits as per company specific guidelines. 

ASSESSMENT CRITERION 2 
2. Teller under counter limits are continuously monitored throughout the days as per company specific requirements. 

ASSESSMENT CRITERION 3 
3. Excess cash holdings are immediately transferred to Treasury as per company specific guidelines. 

ASSESSMENT CRITERION 4 
4. Excess branch cash holdings are actioned as per company specific guidelines. 

ASSESSMENT CRITERION 5 
5. Insurance limits on overnight cash holdings are known and communicated to all relevant staff as per company specific guidelines.

Control security documentation.

Security documentation includes but is not limited to credit cards, savings, cheque books, share certificates. 

ASSESSMENT CRITERIA
 

ASSESSMENT CRITERION 1 
1. Access to security documents is restricted to the delegated custodians only as per company specific requirements. 

ASSESSMENT CRITERION 2 
2. All cabinets storing security documents are securely locked as per company specific requirements. 

ASSESSMENT CRITERION 3 
3. Delivery bags containing security documents are checked to ensure that they are received in a properly sealed condition as per company specific requirements. 

ASSESSMENT CRITERION 4 
4. Stock counts on security documents are performed on a monthly basis as per company specific requirements. 


UNIT STANDARD ACCREDITATION AND MODERATION OPTIONS 
1. Anyone assessing a learner against this unit standard must be registered as an assessor with the relevant ETQA.

2. Any institution offering learning that will enable achievement of this unit standard or assessing this unit standard must be accredited as a provider with the relevant ETQA.

3. Moderation of assessment will be overseen by the relevant ETQA according to the moderation guidelines in the relevant qualification and the agreed ETQA procedures.

Therefore anyone wishing to be assessed against this unit standard may apply to be assessed by any assessment agency, assessor or provider institution which is accredited by the relevant ETQA.

    The learner is able to identify and solve problems when monitoring the collection and delivery of cash ensuring all possible precautions are taken to minimise security risk. 

    UNIT STANDARD CCFO WORKING 
    The learner is able to work effectively with others when loading and sealing cash binsunder dual control, ensuring security risk is minimised. 

    UNIT STANDARD CCFO ORGANISING 
    The learner is able to organise and manage his/her own activities to allow sufficient time for identifying security guards daily before proceeding with collections and delivery of cash. 

    UNIT STANDARD CCFO COLLECTING 
    The learner is able to collect, analyse, organise and critically evaluate information when controlling security documentation, ensuring decisions about the identity of delegated custodians are based on complete and accurate documentation. 

    UNIT STANDARD CCFO COMMUNICATING 
    The learner is able to communicate both verbally and in writing when informing staff of insurance limits on overnight cash holdings, ensuring all parties are aware of the correct procedures.
