PURPOSE OF THE UNIT STANDARD
This unit standard enables learners to use the relevant equipment to produce cured moulded products according to customer product requirement.

Qualifying learners are able to:
  • Prepare moulds to be used in a manufacturing process.
  • Operate equipment to produce moulded products.
  • Cure polymer compound product to meet product requirements.
  • Remove polymer compound product from press and store in line with requirements.

  • LEARNING ASSUMED TO BE IN PLACE AND RECOGNITION OF PRIOR LEARNING
It is assumed that learners are competent in Communication and Mathematical Literacy at NQF Level 2.
