PURPOSE OF THE UNIT STANDARD 
The purpose of the learning is to enable the learner to be able to select and analyse photographic images that are relevant and successful for development, rendering and printing.

This Unit Standard contributes to the competence of those learners who want to pursue a career in the Photographic and/or Design sector, and contribute to greater levels of production and quality in this sector. The Unit Standard encompasses the analysis of a photographic brief, analysis and selection of relevant and successful photographic images.

Credited learners are capable of:
  • Analysing outcomes of a photographic brief to identify relevant and successful photographic images.
  • Analysing and selecting applicable photographic images according to brief criteria.
  • Presenting and evaluating choices to relevant stakeholders.
  • Documenting and evaluating the decision making process.
