| PURPOSE OF THE UNIT STANDARD |
| The disposal of waste constitutes an integral aspect of waste management which is an important part of environmental management. The disposal of waste is one of the key functions of a learner who embarks on a specialisation stream in waste management. The learner will be able to explain the terminology and principles pertaining to the disposal of waste, discuss the regulatory requirements and potential impacts related to the disposal of waste.
