The learner will be equipped with the knowledge of different ways in which waste is generated and stored. The learner will also be able to explain the terminology and principles pertaining to waste generation and primary storage, discuss the regulatory requirements and potential impacts related to waste generation and primary storage.

Learners credited with this standard will be capable of:
  • Explaining the terminology and principles of waste generation and primary storage.
  • Explaining the activities and resources related to generation and primary storage.
  • Applying regulatory requirements and performance standards for generation and primary storage of waste.
  • Identifying and describing the potential impacts or environmental risks associated with deviations from performance standards.

  • LEARNING ASSUMED TO BE IN PLACE AND RECOGNITION OF PRIOR LEARNING
  • Communication at NQF Level 4.
  • Mathematical literacy at NQF Level 4.
