This unit standard will be useful to people who are responsible for basic surveys and layouts.

People credited with this unit standard are able to:
  • Demonstrate an understanding of basic surveying in surface excavations.
  • Perform basic surveying tasks.
  • Transfer data from quarry plans into the field.
  • Conduct basic calculations in surface excavations.
