PURPOSE OF THE UNIT STANDARD 
The unit standard is aimed at those people who are required to monitor and evaluate housing projects and report data to enable decision-makers to act on data collected.

The qualifying learner will be capable of:
  • Designing the monitoring and evaluation systems.
  • Planning and preparing for the evaluation.
  • Determining the methods and tools to be used for evaluation.
  • Measuring the housing project progress and performance.
  • Establishing an evaluation database.
  • Demonstrating an understanding of the reporting system.

    Key factors to be controlled within housing projects are identified and specified to ensure effective monitoring of housing projects.

    The monitoring system is designed to indicate various facets of housing project outputs.

    The attributes to required for the database system for the evaluation of housing projects are determined and explained using examples. 
    ASSESSMENT CRITERION RANGE 
    Information needed for assessment of housing project in respect of location of the housing project management and control, current project status, scheduled performance in terms of timeframes for delivery, cost performance output quality is developed.
     

    ASSESSMENT CRITERION 2 
    The technical description of the performance of the project is developed to provide progress in terms of the project.

    Demonstrate an understanding of the reporting system.

    ASSESSMENT CRITERION 1 
    The format of the evaluation report is developed and discussed in accordance with organisational requirements. 

    ASSESSMENT CRITERION 2 
    The frequency of reporting is explained according to the prescripts of the evaluation tool. 

    ASSESSMENT CRITERION 3 
    A set of recommendations for corrective action when necessary is applied in a given context. 

    ASSESSMENT CRITERION 4 
    A formal written progress report is compiled and presented for consideration.

  • Providers offering learning towards this unit standard will be accredited by the relevant Educational Training Quality Assurance Body (ETQA) or with an ETQA that has a Memorandum of Understanding with the relevant ETQA.
  • Any institution offering learning in that will enable achievement of this Unit Standard or will assess this Unit Standard must be accredited as a provider with the relevant ETQA, or with ETQA that has a Memorandum of Understanding with the relevant ETQA.
