PURPOSE OF THE UNIT STANDARD 
This unit standard is intended for people who deliver promotional, free, emergency stock etc to a Wholesale or Retail organisation while merchandising stock in that outlet. This person is able to co-operate with others in delivering stock to the wholesaler/retailer's and supplier's satisfaction and in a cost-effective manner.

    Stock items for delivery are identified and collected as per the organisation's procedures. 

    ASSESSMENT CRITERION 2 
    The condition of the items is checked to ensure they meet the required standards and any damaged stock is reported according to organisational procedures. 

    ASSESSMENT CRITERION 3 
    Stock is verified to the delivery documents prior to loading according to organisational procedures. 

    ASSESSMENT CRITERION 4 
    Where applicable, cash transactions are documented and cash secured according to organisational requirements.

    ASSESSMENT CRITERION 1 
    Stock items are loaded in the appropriate sequence according to delivery route. 

    ASSESSMENT CRITERION 2 
    Packing material and methods are used to secure and protect stock from damage/spoilage/theft whilst in transit according to organisational procedures and characteristics of the stock being delivered. 

    ASSESSMENT CRITERION 3 
    Packing methods used are in keeping with road and vehicle utilization laws and do not place either the driver, stock or other road users at risk.

    In case of cash-on-delivery, payment is obtained and receipt issued according to organisation's requirements.

    Ways in which shrinkage and losses occur are explained in relation to the process of loading, unloading and delivering stock.

    Merchandise found to be damaged and not accepted by the customer is handled according to organisational procedures.

    Stock that could not be delivered due to other reasons is returned to the original distribution point according to organisational procedures.

    Documentation is checked to ensure completeness prior to handing to relevant parties at end of delivery process.
