    UNIT STANDARD NOTES
    Supplementary information

As Economic and Management Sciences have recently been integrated to form a new formal learning area, many educators may not have formal qualifications in the integrated learning area per se. Thus the learning assumed to be in place may be from a different sub-field of the field: Economics, Commerce and Management studies.

Integrated Economic and Management Sciences forms a relatively large learning area and an extended range of knowledge and skills are required to successfully facilitate the learning area. Therefore this unit standard carries 25 credits, while most other methodology unit standards at the same level are worth 20 credits.

Practitioners facilitating this new learning area have expressed a need for the requirements to be made clear. The decision to develop a unit standard for facilitators of Economic and Management Sciences was motivated by this.
