PURPOSE OF THE UNIT STANDARD
The purpose of this unit standard is to enable learners to manufacture and construct site-made (bolted) trusses for roofing, in line with safety legislation, and National Building Regulations and requirements, and based on specification drawings. The role of safety is crucial, and understanding the implications of design modifications and industry convention to deal with practical challenges are important factors when attaining the outcomes of this unit standard. Learners mostly apply competence under supervision of a team leader.
