PURPOSE OF THE UNIT STANDARD 
This Unit Standard is intended for employees in the Local Employment and Skills Development Practices sector, but could also be utilised in other fields where networking with subject specialists is necessary.

This Unit Standard focuses on the process of networking as a means of finding information. People credited with this Unit Standard will be able to network locally and overseas in order to source information or support that could help them to research or address a variety of matters. They would also be able to describe the relation that the identified experts/stakeholders have with their organisation as well as the relevance of these internal and external stakeholders to their organisation.

People credited with this Unit Standard will be able to:
  • Identify sources of information and support concerning an environmental issue or risk
  • Contact relevant sources and obtain information, advice and/or support
  • Keep records of contacts and information
  • Describe the relevance of the stakeholders to the organisation 

  • LEARNING ASSUMED TO BE IN PLACE AND RECOGNITION OF PRIOR LEARNING 
    The learner should be competent in Communication at NQF Level 3.

    UNIT STANDARD ACCREDITATION AND MODERATION OPTIONS 
    Accreditation for this Unit Standard shall be obtained from the relevant Education and Training Quality Assurance Body, through summative and formative assessment by a registered assessor.
  • Assessors must be registered as an Assessor with the relevant ETQA.
  • Moderators must be registered as assessors with the relevant ETQA, or with an ETQA that has a Memorandum of Agreement with the relevant ETQA.
  • Training providers must be accredited by the relevant ETQA.

    Moderation should include both internal and external moderation where applicable.
