UNIT STANDARD ACCREDITATION AND MODERATION OPTIONS 
Any person wishing to be assessed against this unit standard may apply to an assessment agency, assessor or provider institution accredited by the relevant ETQA, who may appoint a moderator to be present at the assessment.

The assessor must have knowledge and experience of air-conditioning or refrigeration.

    Supplementary information:

    Persons operating high pressure cleaning machines must be authorized in writing.
    Cleaning is restricted to external areas of components and/or parts of air-conditioning, refrigeration and ventilation plant that can be accessed without dismantling the component or part.
    Work area to be cleaned is restricted to the area associated with the refrigeration or air-conditioning plant and/or its components.

    Specific requirements are contained in one or more of the following documents:
  • Manufacturer`s instructions regarding the handling of components and accessories.
  • Company procedures and guidelines regarding retrieval of components and accessories from stores.
    Legal requirements regarding personal, product and worksite safety as well as the impact of the use of cleaning materials on the environment are contained in the relevant Clauses of the Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA)
