PURPOSE OF THE UNIT STANDARD
The skills, values and knowledge reflected in this unit standard are required by people in the field of manufacturing.
The learning outcomes in this unit standard also contribute to the exit level outcomes required for various manufacturing qualifications.
Qualifying learners are able to conduct laboratory tests on manufactured products and raw materials include physical tests, mechanical properties tests, chemical properties tests and tests for specific product requirements.

UNIT STANDARD RANGE
The learner should be able to work autonomously with minimal supervision.
