PURPOSE OF THE UNIT STANDARD |
This learner will be able to perform masonry functions listed in this unit standard under supervision.
The qualifying learner is capable of: Identifying and using masonry tools, materials and protective equipment, setting up vertical profiles and building walls within profiles, setting up and installing doorframes and window frames and installing lintels. In addition to the above the qualifying learner will be able to mark off, position and build in roof anchors, build of ancillary walls to complete structure as well as clean brickwork and clear building site. These learning outcomes form part of the Elective learning in the "National Certificate in Construction". This unit standard will contribute to the development of more professional construction workers. The skills, knowledge and understanding demonstrated within this unit standard are essential for social and economic transformation and upliftment within the construction environment. |
