PURPOSE OF THE UNIT STANDARD |
The purpose of this Unit Standard is to enable Plumbers to install and maintain soil, wastewater and vent systems. |

UNIT STANDARD RANGE |
1. The installation, repair and maintenance of hot and cold water systems are according to the following qualitative specifications:
2. Soil and waste water pipes include: uPVC, galvanised (GMS), cast iron. 3. Vertical pipes are fitted plumb, horizontal pipes are installed to specified falls. 4. Pipes include built-in, and suspended pipes and are secured using holder bats. 5. Fittings include: holder bats, reducers, tees, bends, etc 6. Waste water fixtures include: sinks, baths, jetted baths (spa baths), bidets, wash-hand basins, showers, wash troughs, salad bowls, grease traps, floor drains, and food waste disposers. 7. Sanitary fittings include: water closet pans (wall-hung and pedestal), urinals (stall and wall-hung). |
