PURPOSE OF THE UNIT STANDARD 
This Unit Standard is for all persons working in the FOREX section of a Financial Services Institution.

Persons credited with this Unit Standard will be able to:
  • Establish the nature of the customer's needs
  • Link the customer's needs to the appropriate foreign exchange product/s
  • Provide the relevant foreign exchange product/s. 

  • LEARNING ASSUMED TO BE IN PLACE AND RECOGNITION OF PRIOR LEARNING 
    It is assumed that learners accessing this Unit Standard will be competent in Communication at NQF Level 3 

    UNIT STANDARD RANGE 
    Travelers' cheques, foreign notes, credit cards, drafts, tele-transmissions related to retail products, clean bills of exchange

    The reasons for the customer's request are ascertained in compliance with Reserve Bank requirements.

    The specific transactions required to execute the customer's request are identified in the manner required by the institution.

    Including, but not limited to interest and exchange rates, commission, Reserve Bank rulings and regulations.

    The customer's choice is reviewed and linked with the expressed need in the manner required by the institution.

    Confirmation of the rates and the customer's agreement to the rates is obtained in line with the institution's procedures
