PURPOSE OF THE UNIT STANDARD 
This Unit Standard is intended for persons who conduct administrative functions in the middle and back office in an Asset Management environment.

A person credited with this Unit Standard will be able to:
  • Manage system access requirements and authorisation.
  • Perform analysis of system related problems.
  • Provide proposals for implementation of new and enhanced software. 

  • LEARNING ASSUMED TO BE IN PLACE AND RECOGNITION OF PRIOR LEARNING 
    It is assumed that learners are competent in:
  • Mathematical Literacy at NQF Level 4
  • Communication at NQF Level 4
  • The National Diploma in Asset Management: Level 5.

    The scope of this Unit Standard covers various types of systems that are to be managed in a Asset Management back office environment, such system may include but are not limited to:

    User access levels are identified and explained in terms of the system functionality. 

    ASSESSMENT CRITERION 2 
    Security capability is explained according to the system functionality. 

    ASSESSMENT CRITERION 3 
    New users and changes to user access are performed as per instruction and in accordance with company procedure. 

    ASSESSMENT CRITERION 4 
    Risks associated with incorrect profile allocations are explained as per defined company procedures. 

    ASSESSMENT CRITERION 5 
    User access reports are generated as per defined company procedure in order to validate user profiles.

    Perform analysis of system related problems.

    Reported system problems are investigated as per company help desk procedures. 

    ASSESSMENT CRITERION 2 
    Problems are analysed to determine the cause and anticipated time frames for resolution is provided and managed in accordance with help desk service levels. 

    ASSESSMENT CRITERION 3 
    Solutions are implemented or escalated to relevant service provider as defined service levels agreements.

    Provide proposals for implementation of new and enhanced software.

  • An individual wishing to be assessed (including through RPL) against this Unit Standard may apply to an assessment agency, assessor or provider institution accredited by the relevant ETQA, or an ETQA that has a Memorandum of Understanding with the relevant ETQA.
  • Anyone assessing a learner against this Unit Standard must be registered as an assessor with the relevant ETQA or with an ETQA that has a Memorandum of Understanding with the relevant ETQA
