PURPOSE OF THE UNIT STANDARD 
The person credited with this unit standard is able to prepare equipment and materials for the attaching of fittings, wood carvings and mouldings to doors and drawers to complete a product.

The qualifying learner is capable of:
  • Preparing equipment, tools, fittings and workstation.
  • Selecting and preparing adhesives.
  • Attaching fittings
  • Fitting doors and drawers.
  • Attaching wood carvings and mouldings. 

  • LEARNING ASSUMED TO BE IN PLACE AND RECOGNITION OF PRIOR LEARNING 
    Learners accessing this qualification will have demonstrated competence in numeracy and literacy equivalent to NQF level 2. They will also have achieved, or be able to demonstrate equivalent competence to, the National Certificate in Furniture Wood Machining and Cabinet Making, NQF level 2.
