PURPOSE OF THE UNIT STANDARD 
A learner who has achieved this unit standard will be competent in:

Shutting down and performing basic cleaning and maintenance on a cigarette packet over-wrapper and display filling unit to ensure readiness for further production.

To enter a learning programme for this unit standard or to be assessed against this unit standard, the learner is assumed to have :

Literacy and numeracy at NQF level 1
Knowledge of the application of quality control on the final product
Knowledge of preparing an cigarette packet over-wrapper and display filling unit for production

UNIT STANDARD RANGE 
The learner is expected to perform the specific outcomes as reflected in this unit standard with minimal supervision, but with access to work-site procedures and operating instructions

The scope of this unit standard deals with the shut-down of the cigarette packet over-wrapper and display filling unit after the over-wrapping process and before scheduled cleaning or planned production

Material includes, but is not limited to tear tape, film wrap, display blanks and adhesive

Equipment includes, but is not limited to, adhesive pot brushes, adhesive applicators, folders, code blocks, heaters, conveyer belts and suction cups
