PURPOSE OF THE UNIT STANDARD 
This unit standard is for persons in the field of safety and society with specific reference to policing, those who developed competent and willing officials.

A person credited with this unit standard will be able to:
  • Manage members' performance
  • Handle members grievances and conflict
  • Orientate and induct new officials.
  • Coordinate and monitor training and development initiatives for staff
  • Dealing with personal or work related problems.

    This unit standard will contribute to the full development of any learner within the safety in society environment and more specifically within the border control discipline by providing recognition, further mobility and transportability within the field. The skills, knowledge and understanding demonstrated within this unit standard are essential for social and economic transformation and upliftment within the safety in society environment. This unit standard could lead to the National Diploma in Policing Level 5.
