PURPOSE OF THE UNIT STANDARD 
The person credited with this unit standard will be able to prepare to remove hair colouring, remove colouring from hair and scalp and complete follow up procedure

The qualifying learner is capable of:
  • Preparing to remove hair colouring
  • Removing colour from hair and scalp
  • Completing follow up procedure

  • Learners assessing this qualification will have demonstrated competence against unit standards in mathematical, computer, numerical and communication studies at NQF Level 1 or equivalent.
  • Learners assessing this qualification will have demonstrated competence against unit standards: Shampooing and conditioning.

    Colour product in consultation with to be removed is identified according to service provided. 

    ASSESSMENT CRITERION 2 
    Client is protected against water and or chemical spillage. 

    ASSESSMENT CRITERION 3 
    The removal of the colouring product is explained in accordance with manufacturing's instructions. 

    ASSESSMENT CRITERION 4 
    Safety procedures are followed in accordance with organisational requirements.

    Remove hair colour.

    ASSESSMENT CRITERION 1 
    Product residue is completely removed from hair and scalp in accordance with manufacturer's instructions, optimum hair condition requirements and maximum client comfort.

    Hair is conditioned in accordance with manufacturer's instructions and following service requirements. 

    ASSESSMENT CRITERION 3 
    Removal of the colouring product is completed in accordance with manufacturer's instructions and industry standards.
