PURPOSE OF THE UNIT STANDARD 
Caring, without supervision, for electronic equipment and measuring instruments to maintain effective utilisation. 

LEARNING ASSUMED TO BE IN PLACE AND RECOGNITION OF PRIOR LEARNING 
Literacy, numeracy and communication skills at or equivalent to NQF level 2.
Attended a course on Introduction to Grain Handling or equivalent.
An understanding of supplier and customer relationships at NQF level 2.
An understanding of General safety in the work place at NQF level 1. 

UNIT STANDARD RANGE 
The scope of this unit standard entails maintaining effective utilisation of calculators, moisture measuring probes, computers, control panels, falling number analyzers, road- rail- and in-line mass meters, mass measuring instruments, moisture analyzers, printers, protein analyzers, electronic bulk stock measuring equipments, measuring cylinders, stop watches and thermometers.

The specific outcomes as reflected in this unit standard are performed without direct supervision, but with access to work site procedures and operating instructions.
