PURPOSE OF THE UNIT STANDARD 
A learner will be able to administer and manage Pilot Working when normal train control systems are suspended due to abnormal circumstances that occur and will be able to conform to related train working rules in a specific railway environment and contribute to safe movement on rail.

The qualifying learner will be capable of:

    Information includes but is not limited to communication failure, accidents, obstructions, washaways, suspension of train control system and other abnormal conditions.

    Information concerning the immediate abnormal circumstances is verified according to the degraded mode.
