PURPOSE OF THE UNIT STANDARD 
The person credited with this unit standard will be able to demonstrate knowledge of the neutralizing process and its effect of the hair shaft; prepare to perm and complete follow up actions

The qualifying learner is capable of:
  • Demonstrating knowledge of the neutralizing process and its effect on the hair shaft.
  • Preparing to neutralise a perm.
  • Neutralising a perm.
  • Completing follow up actions. 

  • LEARNING ASSUMED TO BE IN PLACE AND RECOGNITION OF PRIOR LEARNING 
    Learners assessing this qualification will have demonstrated competence against unit standards in mathematical, computer, numerical and communication studies at NQF Level 1 or equivalent. Demonstrate and understanding of the personal care sector.

  • Preparation includes: hair and scalp analysis: porosity, elasticity, texture, density, length, scalp condition, growth patterns, hydrogen bonds broken, solution type, client follow up service
